Phil Hogan brings over three decades of leadership in agriculture, trade and international diplomacy to his campaign for Director General of the FAO. As Ireland’s former EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Trade, he helped shape the policies that underpin European and global food systems negotiating landmark trade agreements, steering the EU through market crises, and representing Europe at the G20, WTO and United Nations.
He is running to bring that experience and a clear strategic vision to the FAO one of the world’s most important institutions in the fight against hunger and food insecurity.
